This book club is designed to encourage instructors to discuss how they can develop wicked courses.

Telling someone “no” is challenging already. So how do you say “no” to your supervisor or professor while maintaining a positive relationship? In this presentation we will come up with different techniques and suggestions on how to improve your negotiation and communication skills.

This session will explore Universal Design for Learning (UDL), a framework based on research from the fields of educational development and neuroscience. UDL promotes inclusion and equity in higher education contexts by identifying and reducing barriers that some students face, in ways that promote the retention and success of all students. Join an interactive, facilitated discussion on opportunities for the implementation of the UDL principles in your courses.

In this workshop, you will learn about and apply theories of self-directed learning to students and oneself’s achievement, as well as gain strategies about setting expectations and working effectively with students and faculty.
