Join us Tuesdays in September as Proctorio leads the discussion on online exam security. We will cover basic quiz creation in Canvas and then dive deep into how to enable Proctorio in a Canvas course and add it to a quiz; give an overview of common settings for remote proctoring; and wrap up with a look at the Proctorio Gradebook.

FIC staff will facilitate an asynchronous peer workshop in Canvas, where participants will receive feedback on their teaching statement drafts and share suggestions to strengthen others' statements with vivid examples of teaching strategies and learner-centered goals.

This webinar will cover the workflow of online assignment creation, student submission, instructor grading and student’s view of feedback. We will present an overview of the gradebook and discuss the advantages of using grading tools such as Rubrics and SpeedGrader.

Fall semester meetups will take place every Friday from 1:00-1:45 on Zoom:
- During First Friday, a facilitator will share strategies for online teaching.
- The Second Friday gathering will provide opportunities to practice the strategies.

Proponents of the grading philosophy known as minimal marking argue that “the best mark is that which allows students to correct the most on their own with the least help.” In this workshop, we’ll talk about why we assign grades to individual assignments, explore the ideas behind minimal marking, and consider how rubrics can save time and create a fairer and more instructive experience for your students. For this workshop, you will complete pre-work available in Canvas modules and then apply what you have learned in a sychronous Zoom session on 9/25.

This webinar will introduce Panopto, the new video platform instructors can use to create course materials. We will cover how faculty can use the recording feature to create micro-lectures (with PowerPoint or Keynote) and add quizzes - either as an assignment or as a self-check mechanism.
