The Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) is partnering with the Graduate School and UT Libraries to host our 7th Graduate Teaching Showcase which highlights excellent graduate student teaching at UT Austin. The centerpiece of the Showcase is a series of personal narratives about teaching presented by students from across campus.
In preparation for fall 2020, the UT teaching and learning community developed a wealth of resources to get us through the pandemic. We dove back into those resources, many featured on our FIC Commons site, and extracted some that may be helpful for instructors juggling course modalities in the first few weeks of classes to meet health and safety needs.

When my discussion-based, writing-intensive course transitioned online abruptly and half-way through the Spring 2020 semester, I worried – as other instructors did – about how to best care for my students in light of global events while also maintaining the momentum we had established during our first couple of months in the classroom together.
