**Practice sessions will be scheduled at various times from 4/11-4/22.** Check the Canvas course to indicate your preference of teaching practice times.
Teaching Practice is a teaching improvement technique that involves an instructor delivering a mini-lesson (10-12 minutes) to a small group of peers in order to receive detailed feedback on their teaching effectiveness. It is a great opportunity for instructors to try new teaching strategies in a safe environment.
To learn more and self-enroll in the Canvas site, visit https://bit.ly/22SpringTPS. Once you have joined the Canvas course, you can register for a session using the RSVP link either in the module for the session, in the calendar, or in the announcements.
Participants who complete multiple sessions will receive a Certificate of Completion that acts as a credential demonstrating your investment in professional development to future employers. Complete 3 sessions and upload a qualifying reflection for a Teaching Preparation Certificate; complete 7 sessions and submit a qualifying Teaching Statement for an Advanced Teaching Preparation Certificate. Please feel free to contact Michelle Gaston (michelle,gaston@austin.utexas.edu) or Katherine Sadek (katherine.sadek@austin.utexas.edu) with further questions. We look forward to working with you!
