Planning for unexpected moments of tension, conflict, or controversy in your learning environment may feel a bit counterintuitive as we strive to create belonging, inclusivity, and a classroom climate that supports mastery of course content. You will work through a facilitated process that will help you consider and anticipate the impact of classroom policies, the use of technology, possible sensitive topics that may arise in your course as well as diversifying content and assessments to recast how to recognize and to utilize discomfort in our learning environments.
Facilitated by Shavonne Coleman (Faculty Innovation Center)
*This workshop is part of a 3-part series but you do not need to attend each workshop in order to benefit from it, though we invite you to take a deeper dive by attending all three.
