Do you strive to improve your teaching? Do you want to document your progress with a nationally recognized teaching organization?

If you answered 'yes' to the question above, we have a course for you!

The University of Texas System is awarding grants for 30 full- time instructors to participate in the Association of College and University Educators (ACUE) microcredential course, Promoting Active Learning. This eight-week, professionally led, asynchronous course allows you to learn about, implement, and reflect on research-based teaching strategies in your fall semester courses.

This course requires participants to work through one asynchronous online module per week, with an average weekly commitment of 2-3 hours. This requires

  • Watching videos from expert educators
  • Completing readings that highlight best practices
  • Participating in discussions (either synchronously or asynchronously)
  • Using one strategy they've learned in each week's module in their course
  • Writing a reflection about the strategy they have applied.

The average time commitment each week is around 2-3 hours.

After completing all course modules, you can combine this microcredential with three other ACUE micro-credentials (offered in later semesters) to get an ACUE Certificate in Effective College Instruction that you can put on your resume, LinkedIn, and promotion file.

Fall semester course starts the weekend of September 9 and runs through October 29.
