The Teaching Innovation Grant provides full-time instructors with funding to develop new course innovations that enhance student learning. For the 2025-2026 academic year, the focus will be on fostering student belonging—a key factor in student success, supported by decades of research in social and learning sciences.
Grantees will receive $3,000 to develop and implement their innovation over the summer 2025 semester, with the goal of creating a more inclusive classroom where students feel connected—to each other, the discipline, and the university. Innovations that can be adapted by other instructors are especially encouraged.
Grant Expectations
- Attend a student belonging symposium at UT in April 2025
- Research and develop classroom resources over the summer
- Implement the innovation in a Fall 2025 course
- Submit an end-of-summer report with resource examples
- Reflect on outcomes and share results in Spring 2026
