RISE Program

The Center for Teaching and Learning is excited to introduce to the UT community a new pilot program, RISE: Resources and Insights for Starting Educators. RISE is a summer cohort experience that empowers faculty with teaching-related knowledge, skills, and peer community for their formative years at UT.

Program Details: 

The program is intended for participants who can attend all five program sessions (Mondays from July 15-August 12), in order to foster a learning community of educators. Upon completion participants will receive a digital badge and small stipend.

Each session will include both structured time with planned activities and unstructured time for getting to know colleagues and members of the UT teaching community over lunch. Topics for the structured portions will include:

  • UT's Teaching and Learning Ecosystem
  • Course Design and Organization
  • Assessment of Learning
  • Student Engagement
  • Course Culture

Participants in this program should be in the first five years of their UT careers, and have a professional or tenure-track faculty appointment of at least 50%.
