Winona León

Instructional Designer

Winona León is an Instructional Designer passionate about fostering meaningful and engaging learning opportunities across our campus community. Previously, she served as a Senior Academic Program Coordinator in Curriculum and Academic Administration, where she collaborated with CTL to enhance the Designing a Well-Crafted Course faculty toolkit. She holds an MFA in Creative Writing from the University of Wyoming and a graduate certificate in Instructional Design from the University of Wisconsin-Stout.

Sofia Manuel

Post-Baccalaureate Fellow (2025-27)

Sofia Manuel is a Post-Baccalaureate Fellow in UT-Austin’s Center for Teaching and Learning, where she supports faculty development initiatives and research projects that advance student learning outcomes. She recently earned her B.S. in Cognitive Studies from Vanderbilt University, where she developed a strong interest in educational research, metacognition, and human performance. She is particularly drawn to the intersection of discipline, motivation, and learning. Prior to joining CTL, Sofia worked as a research assistant in Vanderbilt’s Advancing Learning Lab, where she conducted quantitative analysis in R and examined study strategies across disciplines to improve metacognitive awareness. Her background also includes biomechanics research with the Houston Astros and dermatological research at Mount Sinai. These experiences deepened her understanding of applied research across diverse fields. Sofia is fluent in Spanish and enjoys weightlifting, golf, wake surfing, and watching Boston sports.

Elon Lang

Associate Director for Faculty Development

Before becoming Associate Director for Faculty Development at UT’s Center for Teaching and Learning in 2025, Elon Lang spent 13 years as a professional track faculty member at UT Austin, achieving the rank of Associate Professor of Instruction. He taught literature, composition, rhetoric, and archival research in the Thomas Jefferson Center and Liberal Arts Honors Program. His service includes Faculty Council committees, the PTF Steering Committee, and directing the International Hoccleve Society (2011–2018). His expertise spans digital humanities, community archiving, and medieval studies, with projects like the Hoccleve Archive and CTL50.

Morgan Ginther

Educational Consultant, Course Design & Career Connections

Morgan Ginther, PhD is an Educational Consultant specializing in course design and 
career connections in the Center for Teaching and Learning at UT Austin. In her 
previous role as a project manager in Academic Affairs, she led a range of strategic 
initiatives that supported teaching and learning across the university. Now, she’s 
excited to work more directly with instructors and academic programs to help create 
high-impact learning experiences for students. Morgan is deeply committed to the 
transformative power of education and its ability to shape learner’s personal and 
professional journey.
