Post-Baccalaureate Fellow (2025-27)

Sofia Manuel is a Post-Baccalaureate Fellow in UT-Austin’s Center for Teaching and Learning, where she supports faculty development initiatives and research projects that advance student learning outcomes. She recently earned her B.S. in Cognitive Studies from Vanderbilt University, where she developed a strong interest in educational research, metacognition, and human performance. She is particularly drawn to the intersection of discipline, motivation, and learning. Prior to joining CTL, Sofia worked as a research assistant in Vanderbilt’s Advancing Learning Lab, where she conducted quantitative analysis in R and examined study strategies across disciplines to improve metacognitive awareness. Her background also includes biomechanics research with the Houston Astros and dermatological research at Mount Sinai. These experiences deepened her understanding of applied research across diverse fields. Sofia is fluent in Spanish and enjoys weightlifting, golf, wake surfing, and watching Boston sports.
