**Practice sessions will be scheduled at various times throughout the week of October 26.** Check the Canvas course in September to indicate your preference of teaching practice times.
Teaching Practice is a teaching improvement technique that involves an instructor delivering a mini-lesson (10-12 minutes) to a small group of peers in order to receive detailed feedback on their teaching effectiveness. It is a great opportunity for instructors to try new teaching strategies in a safe environment.
To learn more and self-enroll in the fall Canvas site, visit http://bit.ly/fall20tps. Once you have joined the Canvas course, you can register for a session using the Canvas Calendar function. If a session is full, it will not appear on your calendar.
Participants who complete multiple sessions will receive a Certificate of Completion that acts as a credential demonstrating your investment in professional development to future employers. Complete 3 sessions and upload a qualifying reflection for a Teaching Preparation Certificate; complete 7 sessions and submit a qualifying Teaching Statement for an Advanced Teaching Preparation Certificate. Please feel free to contact Laura Struve at struve@austin.utexas.edu with further questions. We look forward to working with you!
