Thushani Herath

Thushani Herath is an Associate Professor of Instruction in the Department of Chemistry. Since joining UT in 2016, she has designed and taught multiple Analytical Chemistry laboratory courses. Her teaching emphasizes real-world applications, fostering meaningful connections between hands-on experiences and student understanding.

In 2020, Thushani served as a faculty member of a team that received the President’s Award for Global Learning for a collaborative project focused on interactive and experiential campaign about skin cancer prevention among young adults in Singapore. She is also a recipient of a Pathway Grant, which supports her ongoing work in vertically aligning laboratory skills across chemistry and biochemistry curricula.
