Assistant Director for Assessment and Experiential Learning

Heather Wright (Ph.D.) is an Educational Consultant (Experiential Learning) and Senior Assessment Specialist in the Center for Teaching and Learning. Heather supports members of the UT teaching and learning community who seek to include high-quality experiential learning in courses across the undergraduate and graduate curriculum, as well as those who support experiential learning at the intersection of academic courses and the co-curriculum. Additionally, Heather provides guidance and support to faculty and staff in the areas of assessment and program evaluation, and is an experienced external reviewer for the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges. Her portfolio of work at the CTL includes directing the Experiential Learning Initiative, providing faculty consultations and workshops, and facilitating the development of teaching and learning communities of practice. Heather maintains an active research agenda, and is the co-editor of “Community-Base Multiliteracies and Digital Media Projects” (2014) and “Digital Storytelling in Higher Education: International Perspectives” (2017).
